Inaugural event at new Goodnotes London HQ
New AI product features unveiled ahead of Bett 2024
This was the view from the Goodnotes HQ in London on Tottenham Court Road. It was hosting its inaugural event at its new HQ to woo guests and provide a preview of new AI features for the note taking app ahead of Bett in January 2024.
The company has made the decision to relocate its HQ to London from Hong Kong and employs 180 people. It has around 40 employees in London with the rest spread across countries including Hong Kong, Sweden, Spain, Oman, Greece, India, USA, China, and New Zealand. According to Dr Minh Tran, its Vice President of Operations and Academic Affairs, the relocation to London is because of talent.
My View
This was such an exciting event and showed me how UK edtech needs to be and can be. It has to be engaging teachers, developers, and creating community. It must leverage the advantages of cities and show how companies are innovating with the future of work. It felt energising being in a tech space and getting an insight of what goes on behind the scenes at companies such as Goodnotes.
The event gave me the opportunity to speak to new colleagues and hear about how they are embedding digital tools into their school environment.
I think it has cemented my thought that digital strategy is complex and every school is different. Goodnotes is certainly a company to watch and kudos to the whole team.
Finally, if you are looking for alternatives or complementary additions to Google, Apple or Microsoft, I’d look closely at Goodnotes. Alfred Chuang, Founder and General Partner at Race Capital, believes “Goodnotes will be bigger than Notion.”
